About Us

At Daisy Hills, we have taken something which started as a passion and turned it into a successful occupation that our whole family is involved in.

You might be wondering what an English cream Golden Retriever actually is. The truth is, there is only one Golden Retriever breed. An English Cream Golden Retriever is a Golden Retriever descended from an English line, with a light-colored coat. Because English creams come from European lines, there are slight differences in breed standards from American Golden Retrievers. The differences are small but significant.

An English cream should weigh approximately between 55-75 pounds, and measure around 21 1/2- 24  inches tall. The biggest difference between the American and English variation is the coat color. American Goldens can range in color from golden to deep red, while English creams have a paler coat, closer to platinum.

After coat color, the next most significant difference is the wider head and stockier build of the English as compared to the American. We personally LOVE this chunky build, and the fat, polar bear, appearance of our English golden puppies. We love nice wide heads and thick muzzles, and the thicker body of the English. Since you found our page, we are guessing that you do, too!

One final factor stands out to us about English Cream versus American Golden Retrievers - and that is the health factor. An English Golden, on average, has a lifespan of 12 years, whereas the American Golden is closer to 10-11 years. Of course, these are an average, and there are many, many factors that contribute to a dog's longevity, but it is nice to know that our English Dog friends may live with us just a little bit longer than their American counterparts.

One thing we absolutely ADORE about our English creams is their steady, calm, friendly, people-loving temperaments. Is an English Cream a good family dog? The happy answer to this question is a resounding YES! Their beautiful, mild temperaments make them an ideal companion for EVERYONE, from children to the elderly. In fact, they would make excellent candidates for therapy and memory care dogs. While taking a puppy home from Daisy Hills may seem like quite an initial investment, we believe that you will be paid back many, many times over with a charming puppy and an incredibly beautiful dog, with a temperament absolutely second to none.

We understand that, being one of the most popular breeds in the United States, you can find a Golden Retriever just about anywhere, so we would like to explain a little bit about Daisy Hills and why we believe that our puppies would be perfect for you! We have been on the hunt for the best line of English creams we could find, for YEARS, and eventually came across our beautiful girls that are in our current breeding program. Our beautiful ladies are imports from Europe, and are either champions themselves, or have many champions in their heritage. They have been health tested, and so have the sires that we use to breed them to (who are also European). We truly believe we have never come across more beautiful Goldens, and their temperaments are absolutely unmatched as well. When the parents are healthy, beautiful, and sound in temperament, those traits are inevitably passed down to their puppies.

Our puppies are socialized by our young (and older) children, as well as by us. They are taught to go through a doggy door to potty outside - usually they are extremely consistent with this by the time they go home at eight weeks. We make sure every puppy is vet checked and receives a clean bill of health before they go home, and they are up to date on deworming and vaccinations as well!

We believe our beautiful dogs and puppies speak for themselves, attesting to their beauty and dispositions. If you think a Golden is the right breed for you (and truly, we believe that this breed is one of the most easy-going, good-natured, versatile breeds out there), then please contact us for further info on our puppies and availability to bring your new family member home!
